It's SNOWING here in Louisiana. And we're still going strong. I notice while INSIDE our homes theyre often just as warm as being inside the office. These don't even have any electric yet, let a lone a fireplace running just one room over.
There's one that we have that features a wood burning fireplace. Very toasty for whomever buys it. Not to mention it has a great surround sound setup for entertaining folks. Sure would love to exchange that one for my DRAFTY house that I live in now. Thing was built in like the 70s or 80s and has 30-40 years of wear and tear. The room I game in has no weather stripping on the door and I can feel every temperature change come through it's exposed base. THESE HOUSES on the other hand are so well sealed up you CAN'T EVEN HEAR THE FREEWAY while you're standing right next to it, let alone the ONLY temperature difference you feel is WARMER while being in there.
If any one is going to come see us over the next few days DRIVE SAFE, DRIVE SLOW, STAY WARM.
In the manufactured housing industry, manufactured homes, or mobile homes, continuously have a negative stigma placed on them due to outdated information and negatively perceived myths about the people who live in them. There is a lot of misinformation out there that can be very misleading when it comes to manufactured homes. Here at Legacy, we know we build a fantastic manufactured home product at an affordable price point. But we also want to educate people about manufactured housing.
We wanted to shed some light on some of the most common manufactured home facts and why you need to know them before purchasing a mobile home. We hope this information serves you well in your home buying process! Feel free to leave us a comment or question below. We look forward to hearing from you.
Not all manufactured homes look the same, and they are even more unique when you custom build your home for your family. The sky is the limit when it comes to the layout, flooring options, countertop materials, wall-colors, and kitchen appliances.
The negative stigma surrounding manufacturing housing is that all homes look the same. This stigma originates from old mobile home parks and the vast park landscape filled with rows and rows of similar-looking homes(from their exteriors at least). The notion that all manufactured homes look the same is different today with a saturated market of mobile home manufacturers available who built very different style homes at a variety of price-points.
Most home builders will be open to customizing homes for customers since the manufacturers have all the building materials available at their disposal anyways to change up the wallboards, countertops, sink fixtures, etc.
Manufactured homes, if properly maintained, often sustain their value and appreciate at a rate similar to the traditional site-built homes. Today's manufactured homes are so well-built, they are very comparable to a site-built home and therefore, a solid investment for homebuyers. Mobile homes built today are more relatable to current site-built homes than they are to the manufactured homes built in the 1970s.
The key to building up a mobile home's value, or equity, overtime is to make sure your mobile home is securely placed on your land so that the mobile home becomes an original structure on your land. Just like a site-built home, your mobile home on your land builds up equity over time. Now, factors such as the location of the land, condition of the home, and demand for the land will determine how much value the property has.
This value will change over time just as the housing market changes.
HUD code regulates manufactured homes in areas such as energy efficiency, structural integrity, as well as wind resistance. Prefabricated homes fall under the jurisdiction of the U.S. government and specifically the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The government and its governing bodies regulate the construction of manufactured homes to ensure the homes fit certain safety standards.
All mobile homes built from 1994 and onwards, are required by law to follow HUD code standards for construction.
Most of the time, manufactured homes are securely placed on a permanent lot and are never moved during their lifespan. Manufactured home builders do not build homes to be temporary housing, although, there are certain circumstances such as natural disasters where temporary housing can be built for people who are displaced from their homes. Still, that is a rare occurrence. Manufactured home builders who have integrity, like Legacy Housing, build manufactured homes for the long term.
With advancements in exterior skirting products, setting the homes down low to the ground, and adding a car-port or garage structure on the land, most people can't even tell the difference between site-built homes and factory-built homes. We here at Legacy Housing build our manufactured homes to outlast the finance note on our homes.
Obtaining financing for a new manufactured home is not as complicated as it once was. Back in the day, it was harder to finance older mobile homes, but now with new mobile homes being built every day, this is a thing of the past. Many mobile home dealerships not only allow you to bring financing from your own, preferred institution, but they also offer in-house financing options for their customers.
Dealerships that carry in-house financing options normally offer an online pre-approval process for the in-house financing to make the entire process simpler and quicker for you when you visit their dealership. Nowadays, there are so many financing options available for manufacturing homes as well as tiny homes! If you are interested in obtaining financing for a manufactured home, click here.
More homes are being placed on private land versus mobile home communities than ever before. Over 65% of new homes are being placed on private land, which means greater freedom in the future for those new homeowners with what they can do with their mobile homes. By placing your manufactured home on your private land, your home earns equity over time, as we discussed earlier in this blog.
Millennials are starting families and when they are looking for affordable housing options, manufactured homes are a great option for some! They want to buy a great home at an affordable price, and manufactured homes are built to be affordable for the end consumer. Manufactured homes come in a variety of floorplans and square footage.
Especially in rural areas, manufactured homes are very popular with new homeowners or first-time home buyers. The land is generally cheaper outside of a metropolitan area, so by obtaining land, they can choose what they would like to put on it in terms of housing options. Manufactured homes were designed to be more affordable because of the manufacturing process and building materials that go into making a mobile home compared to traditional site-built homes.
Affordable homes are being built every day by mobile home manufacturers like Legacy Housing. See our functional floorplans, family-friendly designs, and standard-features-packed homes that are built by families, for families. We thank you for reading this blog and hope you learned more about manufactured homes and the facts behind them.
After living in your home or apartment for while, the newness wears off and it can be hard to find ways to fall back in love with your current living space. Thankfully, we have come up with some tips and tricks for you to fall back in love with your home. We hope these simple and affordable tips will help you become inspired by your home and enjoy your home as much as you did the first time you saw it.
One of the easiest ways to fall in love with your home is to rearrange your living room furniture. Now, you can take this and apply it to every room in your home such as the master bedroom and family living room, but you don’t need to make too much work for yourself. You can take each tip and apply it to one room in your home for an instant room-refresh!
When you rearrange your living room furniture, you create new walkways and walking paths in your home that make you take new routes from room to room. This helps keep your mind fresh and see new things in your home. Thankfully, with our Legacy floorplans, there is plenty of walk-way room behind and in front of furniture since we build some of the widest homes in the manufactured housing industry.
Move around the TV stand, end tables, living room couch, floor lamps, loveseat, whatever furniture you have in your living room space. When you create a new seating area, you face a different direction making you see walls you never used to before. Rearranging your furniture is an easy and free way to fall in love with your home all over again.
Are you looking for a wider home? Five to fifteen inches doesn’t sound like much, but when it comes to interior width home, it makes a big difference. It could mean the difference between being able to fit a love-seat couch versus a five-seater sectional sofa! If you are looking for a wider home, look no further than Legacy Housing.
Now, this might seem like a stretch, but switching up your light bulbs in your home will change the way you see your home. We recommend switching your lights to energy-efficient LED light bulbs if you haven’t already. LED light bulbs use up to 80% less energy than traditional incandescent lighting according to the U.S Department of Energy. They also end up lasting up to twenty-five times longer than traditional incandescent lighting.
So if you were thinking about switching your old light bulbs to LED light bulbs or even Smart LED light bulbs that you can control with your phone or smart-home hub, the time is now.
By switching your light bulbs(incandescent bulbs) to LED light bulbs or even color-changing light bulbs, you are going to see parts of your home differently than before. Adding color-changing light bulbs in the bedrooms allows you to change the color of your lighting before bedtime, while you watch a movie, and can be done from a small remote control.
Switching to Smart lightbulbs allow you to control the lighting from an app on your phone for even more convenience. You can find color-changing light bulbs on Amazon for a fairly inexpensive price point so this is yet another easy and affordable way to change up your lighting and change up how you live in your home. Plus they are super easy to install!
Area rugs and accent rugs really tie in your living room decor to create a unified living room. But most rugs thick, heavy to carry, and are hard to clean, right? Who can be bothered when they have companies like Ruggable who make affordable, easy to clean, machine washable rugs for any size room or outdoor space.
Their genius two-piece rug system allows you to easily clean the Rug Cover by removing it from the non-slip Rug Pad and throwing it in the washing machine. You can also easily change out rug designs and storing them is simple too since they are so lightweight. They come in many area rug and accent rug sizes and this system is very pet-friendly which we thought our customers would love!
Changing the rugs in your manufactured home has never been easier with Ruggable and changing up your rugs every couple of months allows you to switch up the color scheme in your home allowing you to fall in love with your home. They have a discount code on their website for first-time customers, so use HELLO10 at checkout to save some coin.
We think one of the best ways to freshen up your home is to add some new plants. If you prefer fake or faux plants over live plants, we totally understand. Only you know what will work for your lifestyle and inside your home. But we wanted to share some online plant recommendations that we feel would be good for not only first-time plant owners but plants that are also pet-friendly varieties since most of our customers have furry friends too!
We highly recommend checking out The Sill for brand new plants that can be delivered to your home within a couple of weeks with plant keeping instructions and guided workshops on their website for beginner plant parents. The Sill offers a great selection of house plants that are great for low-light spaces, pet-friendly plants, and their planters are simple in design to go with any decor style. Adding a new plant(or two) to your home can really change up your space and bring something vibrant to your home!
Another online plant retailer we recommend is Bloomscape. They not only offer indoor plants but outdoor plants also in a variety of sizes from extra small plants, to extra large plant varieties. You can pick up live and faux potted plants at local brick and mortar stores like Home Depot, Lowes Garden Center, or your local plant nursery if you are unsure about ordering plants online.
You can also purchase affordable faux greenery at your local Target, Walmart, and online from Amazon. They have really affordable prices so it will be easy to update your home with some bright greenery.

When you are trying to buy a house, or make any big financial purchase in your life, your credit score plays a huge factor in loan interest rates, approval for a loan, and ultimately how much money you end up being approved for. Now, there are little tips and tricks that can help you raise your credit score which we are going to share with you. Credit is not something that can be fixed overnight, but over time, credit scores can improve and that is something to look forward to.
One organic way to boost your credit score over time is to become an authorized user on someone else’s credit card. Now, there are a couple of things you need to know before you start asking people in your life to be added to their credit card! First, this is a great option to gain a larger credit balance without having to apply for a new credit card or ask for a balance increase on your current credit cards.
When you are added as an authorized user on someone else’s credit card, you gain that available credit on your credit score. For example, say your girlfriend has a Visa credit card with a credit limit of $10,000. If she added you as an additional member of the credit card or authorized user to her card, you would also end up gaining the $10,000 worth of available credit from being added to her already established credit card.
Becoming an authorized user is great for people who might not have the best credit score, and who also don’t want to apply for a new credit card or are unsure if they would be approved for a credit card and may end up getting approved for a low available balance. It’s important to note that if you are added to someone else’s credit card as an authorized user, you are not responsible for making payments on the other user’s card. However, because you are an authorized user, if the card owner misses a payment or maxed-out the card, then that will have a negative effect on your credit and credit score.
So, there are pros and cons to becoming an authorized user on someone else’s credit card. If they are a trustworthy person and handle the responsibility of credit and credit usage very well, it might be worth asking them to add you to their already good credit card. Asking just anyone to become an authorized user is not recommended. Asking your significant other(who you trust/have been with long time) or close relative is highly recommended.
Thinking about becoming an authorized user on someone else’s credit card? Here are some credit card guidelines you should follow for success:
The reason you want the longest standing credit card with on-time payment history and a zero to low balance is that because all those years that the credit card has been in use and paid off on time, all that positive data will transfer over to your credit score when you become an authorized user. Authorized users on credit cards are obviously not the primary cardholders and therefore not responsible to make payments on that credit card. Being added as an authorized user on a family member's credit card won’t drastically change your credit score, but it will help your score organically grow over-time as long as that card stays open, and payments to that card are made on time.
Credit Karma defines credit utilization as, “Your total credit balance divided by credit availability. In other words, your credit utilization rate is a percentage that represents how much you use your available credit. For optimum credit health, this percentage should remain under 30% of your total credit limits at all times.”
This is great credit advice and practice to follow for your own credit health! Anything under 30% credit utilization is considered excellent and can help positively boost your credit score. Home lenders want to see that you can use credit wisely and how well you manage your credit.
The higher your credit utilization score, the more money you owe to the credit cards. The higher your credit card utilization, the higher of a risk you appear to lenders which is not good when you are looking to buy a new home, new car, or any large purchase where you might need a bank to loan you money.
Credit Karma is 100% free to download and free to use. Credit Karma is a great visual way to track your credit and make smart financial decisions when it comes to overall credit health. Once you download Credit Karma and enter in all your personal information, you will be able to see your TransUnion score and your Equifax score. Make sure all the information listed and all the accounts are correct.
Be thorough when checking over all your accounts, and, if you see something that isn’t correct, make sure you notify them in the app.
If you want more information about the difference between TransUnion, Equifax, and more credit help, check out Credit Karma’s Youtube channel for helpful videos. Credit Karma can help you fully understand what your credit history entails and how all your credit cards, student loans, and car loan affect your credit score. As we mature, the more important your credit score plays a role in making those big financial life decisions.

When purchasing a new home, flooring can be a huge deciding factor. Have you ever started the home buying process and noticed the first thing you want to change is the flooring? Guilty as charged! Flooring, to some people, is a pretty important feature in a new home.
A good, clean flooring option can be the deciding factor in purchasing a new home or remodeling an older home to fit your needs. Flooring ties all the furniture together and really grounds every single room. Having great looking flooring is important, but having functional flooring is essential!
Flooring needs to be durable, easy to clean, and functional. Our luxury vinyl lino flooring is highly durable and stands up to the normal house-hold wear-and-tear. Vinyl flooring, which is a synthetic cousin of linoleum, can stand up to pet stains, all types of dirt, and daily liquid spills.
One of the biggest reasons that rolled vinyl flooring is such a great option for mobile homes and for modular homes is the fact that vinyl flooring is 100% water-resistant. Being that the flooring is water-resistant means that surface water and spills won’t have an effect on the flooring. Vinyl flooring is great for high-traffic rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms, and living room areas that are shared by many family members.
Rolled vinyl flooring is also great for pet lovers and owners because, as we all know, sometimes pets have accidents and having vinyl flooring is a great option for easy cleanup and future maintenance of your floors.
Home benefits of Vinyl Flooring:
Vinyl flooring has become very popular these days and many businesses use vinyl flooring because it’s so durable and easy to maintain over the long lifespan of the flooring. Many new apartments and site-built homes use vinyl flooring because of the benefits and the desired, clean look of vinyl flooring. Because of its durability, vinyl flooring can be installed on almost any subflooring which is great for manufacturers and homeowners who want to give their current home a floor-lift.
We build our homes with tongue and groove O.S.B floor decking that is further secured together with a high-performance nail-gun. Then, our rolled lino is rolled on top of the tongue and groove O.S.B floor decking to create a seamless flooring finish to each and every home, unless otherwise specified! We still offer other flooring options such as wood grain plank tile and 21oz luxury carpet since we know not every customer wants vinyl flooring in every single room.
Our woodgrain plank tile comes twice as thick as sheet-vinyl flooring and comes in 12” wide by 36” wide planks. Woodgrain plank tile is also long-lasting and nearly indestructible. However, our woodgrain plank tile at this time does not come standard on all our homes like the rolled vinyl flooring. It’s an upgraded option for those customers who prefer that woodgrain tile look in their home.
Our luxury rolled vinyl lino now comes standard on our 12’, 16’, 24’, and 32’ home models. We believe that our rolled vinyl flooring is some of the best vinyl flooring options in the industry. This is why we make our vinyl flooring come as a standard feature in each and every home we build. Because of its durability and functionality in the home, we see it as the best, most affordable flooring option for our customers!
To see what other features come standard in a Legacy home, click here to view our standard feature construction.
Do you have vinyl flooring in your home? Would you upgrade your home with vinyl flooring in the future? We know we sure would! As always, we look forward to hearing from you in the comment section below!
A good home gutter system has one job and that is to protect your home and the foundation of your home from potential water damage. Gutters divert rainwater away from your home and the landscaping that surrounds it. In the springtime, there is much rain to be expected so protecting your home is a very important investment to make.
When choosing a mobile home, it is important to keep in mind that your home is a future investment and you want to protect it for the longterm. Investing in a gutter system for your mobile home is not only a financially smart decision but also very beneficial for the home and the land longterm. Here we will explain why our high-quality aluminum gutter systems are one of the best investments a homeowner can make.
So why should you invest in a new gutter system? It’s a great question that we are happy to answer. First, you have the practical reasons to invest in a new gutter system. An aluminum gutter system will protect your home and windows from run-off water.
Second, the gutter system protects your landscaping and topsoil from unwanted run-off water. What makes our aluminum gutter system different is our unique fascia design that extends the overhang by 6”. Another pro of our gutter system is that by adding a gutter system to your new mobile home, you are adding a more residential type look to your home comparable with most site-built homes.
Gutters are placed to extend beyond the eaves of the roof to collect rainwater and possible hail runoff along all edges of the roof. With the help of our steep pitched roofs, the rainwater can flow faster due to the increased incline into the deeper troughs of the aluminum gutter system. Just make note that the downspouts need to be cleaned at least twice a year to prevent clogged gutters and future water backup.
Our aluminum gutter system is now available on all home models.
Here are the key benefits of having a gutter system installed on your new Legacy mobile home:
Our engineers here at Legacy Housing, have designed and crafted the aluminum gutter system that does not only enhance the look of your mobile home but is also affordable for you as the customer. An aluminum gutter system helps protect the soil around your home’s perimeter to be more stabilized which results in reducing the chances for foundation issues later on. Without a gutter system in place, the possibility of improper drainage is more likely to occur and could incur future costs.
If you are an avid gardener(like my boss) or really take pride in landscaping around your mobile home, then make sure you protect all your hard work with our aluminum gutter system on your next mobile home.
Protect your biggest investment with a well-designed gutter system for your new Legacy mobile home.
Do you have aluminum gutters on your home? We want to hear what your experience is with gutter systems in your home. Please let us know in the comments section below. We look forward to hearing from you!
This Mother’s Day might look a little bit different from past Mother’s day due to the pandemic that has swept across the nation and the world. Not everyone is going to be fortunate enough to spend Mother’s day with their mothers, let alone stay within 6 feet of them(hi, social distancing)! But there are some great gifts and ways you can make the mother figure in your life feel special on their very special day.
Here is our list of top gifting ideas for Mother’s Day for those special moms in your life. What is a show-stopping Mother’s day gift you gave or received? We always look forward to hearing from you, so leave your top Mother’s day gifts in the comments section below.
Here are some great online retailers to hopefully get you inspired for Mom’s special day(or future birthdays!)…
Another great idea for Mother’s Day weekend that doesn’t take too much planning is cooking a meal for Mom. Whether she loves breakfast-in-bed, late-night snack foods, or a comforting meal that brings her family home, cooking for your Mom is something you can’t just order online for her. She will appreciate not only the thought but also the effort as well.
Also, don’t feel pressured to make her favorite food! If your Mom is the chef of the house, getting her favorite take out food for dinner would mean she can focus on spending time with everyone, and less timing cooking in the kitchen for her special day.
Moms love receiving pictures of their children and grandchildren, so making a photo collage or giving her updated photo prints will surely bring a smile to Mom’s face. Especially if she hasn’t been able to visit or see the kiddos lately due to the pandemic. Vistaprint and Shutterfly have great gifts that allow you to use your cute photos and print them on custom throw pillows, sleeping blankets, and mugs.
Whether you are close in proximity to your mom or keeping social distance for everyone’s health and safety, you can always make her day special with a text message, meaningful post on Facebook, or simple phone call. Just hearing the words, “Happy Mother’s Day” is special so don’t overthink it.
No matter how you decide to spoil your Mother this Mother’s Day, remember that material gifts fade in time, but memories last forever. Document her special day and let Mom know how much you love and appreciate her. She won’t forget what you did for her when she looks back on this Mother’s Day together.
When you’re ready to take your Mother’s Day gifting to the next level, check out these fabulously functioning tiny homes for Mom, or Dad’s, next “she-shed”, hunting cabin, or lake house!
Choosing the right mobile home is no easy feat. There are a plethora of things you have to take into consideration. From the number of bedrooms you need to the type of flooring you want throughout the house, there is a lot to choose from.
One of the most important spaces when making a home buying decision in the kitchen. You spend so much time in the kitchen, so it’s gotta be one of the most functional spaces in the entire home. And in the kitchen, the cabinets could be a major deciding factor for how functional your space really is.
Your kitchen may be one of the most used spaces in the entire house. From the most important meal of the day to spending family time together during dinner, there is always something going on in the kitchen. That is why it’s important you choose a kitchen that is durable, functional, and made of quality materials.
Every step of the home manufacturing process at Legacy is carefully thought out with strategy, and our cabinets are no exception.
The typical manufactured home that you visit at a dealership will have wooden cabinets with paper wrapping. This has been the standard for as long as we can remember, and we’ve been in the business for a long time. However, when it comes to the manufacturing decisions in our Legacy mobile homes, we listened to other mobile homeowners' frustrations about our competitor’s cabinet doors decreasing in quality over short periods of time.
That is why Legacy mobile homes include vinyl-covered cabinets, with a vacuum-sealed finish as the standard cabinet option in all our mobile home models. We also make them in-house which ends up saving you money.
Now, it’s not just the vinyl-covered cabinets that set’s Legacy’s kitchen cabinets apart from the competition. We also build our cabinets with thick, sturdy, ¾” cabinet stiles. With a thick, water-resistant cabinet stile, we are able to use a heavy-duty hinge to withstand years of usage because we know kitchen cabinets go through tough usage in every home.
To put this in perspective for you as the consumer, most of our competitors use ½” paper-covered stiles. That’s why we say we build taller, wider, and better mobile homes.
The kitchen pantry we build in every home is something the owners have spent years perfecting. Our kitchen pantries have 3 deep, full-sized shelves that are designed for real-life customers who want to buy the family-sized boxes of cereal because why would you buy the small boxes of Coco-Puffs when you can have the mega box of Coco-Puffs? I rest my case.
Our kitchen pantries are designed for real-life customers who need to have large trash-cans that don’t want to leave the trash can out in the middle of the kitchen for all to see(and smell!). We’ve designed a place in the pantry for your trash can for functionally and convenience.
We are sure you could guess why paper covered cabinets don’t work. Why would you want paper covered cabinets above the hot stove where you boil water, cook spaghetti sauce, and flambe bananas foster? The paper over time is going to bubble, peel, and become ruined by daily exposure to hot water or any type of liquid. Um, not cute.
When taking a look at our competitors, we found that Legacy is the only mobile home manufacturer that uses vinyl wrap for their cabinets instead of the generic and not so durable paper wrap. We also make those vinyl-covered cabinets in-house which allows us to change up the vinyl-covered wrapping options each season. This allows us to have better control over the quality and the variety of our products.
Manufacturing in-house increases our savings which translates into more affordable options for you, our customers. Be on the lookout for a new style of kitchen and bathroom cabinets from Legacy Housing in the fall!

Legacy Housing is one of the top mobile home manufacturers in the United States. We have been in the business of building mobile homes and tiny houses for 15 years now and have worked our way up to being one of the top builders in our industry. But did you know that Legacy Housing also manufactures modular homes?
It’s true! We build modular doublewide homes in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Colorado. Coming in 2020, we will add Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida to the list of states we can build our modular doublewides in.
You may be wondering, what makes it a modular home versus a manufactured home? Great question! Modular homes, as well as modular buildings, consist of repeated physical sections of prefabricated building modules. These prefabricated modules are normally built inside a factory and then assembled on-site.
Modular is also a method of construction that consists of building sections of the modular home, say for example the walls, flooring, roof, etc, away from the final building site and/or intended final building site. A modular home is essentially built in pieces, inside a factory setting, and then later assembled at the final building site such as on a piece of land or in a suburb community. Manufactured homes are like the name suggests, manufactured in a manufacturing factory, and are assembled from start to finish inside the factory.
One of the main advantages of modular homes is that they can be built for most residential areas. Modular homes are built to the same IRC(International Residential Code) and NEC(National Electric Code) as traditional site-built homes and are acceptable by most cities. Because modular homes are built to the same codes as site-built homes, they can be placed in the same communities as traditional site-built homes.
Another advantage of modular homes is that they are built with stronger walls and trusses. At Legacy, we use more lumber for all the framing of the homes, as well as nails, straps, and special adhesives during the construction process. All these add for stronger construction and additional strength of the home.
The trusses that we build for our Legacy modular homes use twice as many wall studs at the openings and we also use top plates for additional strength in our modular homes. Modular homes have higher framing and construction standards than say traditional HUD codes, so when building our Legacy modular homes, we have to meet those construction requirements. Modular homes also have higher electrical standards, higher HVAC standards, as well as higher plumbing standards.
Lastly, another one of the advantages of a Legacy modular home is the homes we build are even more energy-efficient than the mobile homes we build, which are built to HUD code. We use even more energy-efficient windows with better solar heat gain than we do in our traditional mobile homes. We also use more home insulation to keep your house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Modular homes have higher energy efficiency standards so we have to meet those requirements when we build our modular doublewide homes.
No matter if you are interested in a manufactured home or a modular home, Legacy Housing is here to help you with all your affordable housing needs. We even build tiny homes if a doublewide home is too big of a home for your housing needs. Click here to find a Legacy Housing dealer near you!
Would you ever consider a modular home? Feel free to leave your comments below. As always, we look forward to hearing from you!
When choosing the right home, there are many factors that are equally important in the decision-making process. And the whole thing can seem overwhelming at first! As you start thinking about the many factors before buying a mobile home, you may forget about the things you should avoid doing before buying a mobile home. We came up with a shortlist of some top things you might want to avoid doing before buying a mobile home.
As always, please leave your feedback in the comments below! What lessons did you learn before buying a house? What did you learn to avoid doing before buying your next home? We look forward to hearing from you.
Now, let’s get into the top things to avoid before buying a mobile home.
We understand life happens and sometimes you forget to pay the bills on time. We are human too. If this can be avoided, you want to set yourself up for success and make sure you are paying all your bills on time and that you don’t miss any loan payments. Missing loan payments does not reflect highly on your credit score, and it’s not setting yourself up for success when it comes to a future home loan.
The bank is going to see that you missed a loan payment which will have a negative impact on your credit score, as well as your overall credit history. Banking institutions are worse than your ex-boyfriend and will hold onto that missed loan payment(s) for over 7-years before it "falls off" your credit score. Seven years? Um, nobody has time for that! Set yourself up for success and set your loan payments to auto-pay so you don’t ever have to worry about missing a payment, again.
Now, we understand that not everyone trusts the banking system and some people don't like the idea of having payments set to auto-pay. If you don’t like having payments automatically deducted from your bank account, be smart and set a reminder on your phone a week or so before the bill is due. With a week reminder, that should allow the payment to process before the bill is due, or considered late. However, check with your banking institution to see how long it takes for money to be deposited to be sure a week is enough time. You may need more time for the money to process your loan payment.
Avoid changing jobs is a big one because some times things happen where you need to take a new job position with a pay raise, to be able to afford a new home. You don’t want to turn down an opportunity that might not come around again, right? This is where having a financial gameplan is important because let’s face it, life can be very unpredictable.
You want to avoid changing jobs right before buying a new home because financial institutions who will be providing you with a home loan are going to look at how long you’ve lived in-state, what your job history looks like from the last two years, and of course what your financial status is in terms of income and credit. As you know, they are going to look into your credit and your credit history when you are applying for any type of loan. They want to see how you have managed borrowed money over the years as well as your debt-to-income ratio. Institutions will also look at your current income as well as your employment history.
If you know that you are going to need a new home within the next 3 months because let’s say your lease is up on your apartment, you might want to hold off on changing jobs. It takes, on average, 30-45 days for your credit report to update. So if you needed to move in the next 3 months, that wouldn't give you more than a couple of months to raise your credit score and have it reflect on your credit report for when the financial institution pulls your credit history.
You want your credit score to be the best it can be so you snag the best loan! If you have more time to work on your credit, let's say 6 months before you apply for a home loan, the better the loan will be because your credit score will be better, and your credit history will show improvement over time. If you are planning to move in a year or more than you should consider changing jobs if it means a raise and future growth within the company towards your career. Financial institutions are going to look into your financial past, and so if your past credit history looks good, then changing a job within a year is not as much of a factor.
If you can continue working at your current employer until you lock-down a new home, then you can really put your focus on getting a new job without worrying about all the stresses(but also many joys) that come with looking for a home.
Most people have the same bank account for the majority of their adult life. If you’ve been a member of your bank for as long as you can remember and you trust them with your money, then why would you go anywhere else? Having a bank account at a financial institution for an extended period is great for when you are applying for a home loan.
Because you’ve been a member at that banking institution for X number of years, they will be more likely to work with you on home loan options and getting you a better rate when you apply for a home loan. If you join a new bank a month before you plan on purchasing a new mobile home, then that bank might not be able to work with you to give you the best home loan since you have not been a member of the institution for very long. You haven’t had time to build up that banking relationship and financial trust with that new financial institution.
Having a good, long-standing relationship with your bank can be a bonus when applying for a home loan so don’t start banking at a new institution if you are looking to move in the near future.
Now, I am certainly not the one to talk about emotions because empathy runs deep through my veins. However, it’s important to note that when you are planning to buy a mobile home, or a tiny house, or an Ultimate home, try to keep your emotions in check the best you can. The home buying process can be a rollercoaster at times.
It’s totally OK to get excited about a new home and the success of finding something perfect for you and your family! Sharing that success with family and friends is one of the best parts of owning your own home. But just know that buying a new home is a whole lotta process and there are going to be exciting parts of the home buying journey and the not-so-exciting parts of the home buying journey as well.
You may get frustrated trying to find land for your new home or trying to find a mobile home park to live in or trying to find a mobile home to fit all your needs. But that’s why working with people who are connected in the industry and who’ve been selling mobile homes for years is the key to success. You need to find a mobile home dealer that you can trust and who will listen to your housing needs, and find you that perfect new home to fit your budget.
We hope that your journey to find a new mobile home can start with us here at Legacy Housing! We sell our furniture-friendly, mobile homes and tiny houses to over 100+ dealers in America. In the housing industry, manufactured homes, or mobile homes, typically receive a bad rep due to outdated information and negatively perceived stigmas about mobile homes and the people who live in them. There is a lot of misinformation out there that can be very misleading when it comes to manufactured homes. We wanted to take a second and shed some light on some of the most common myths about mobile homes and share with you why they are just that, myths!
Manufactured homes are a very affordable housing option that many Americans would be pleased to live in. As an affordable real estate housing niche, mobile homes are an under-appreciated segment in the housing industry and we believe it's because people still believe in some of these mobile home myths. Here are four common myths about mobile homes and why they are false.
Mobile homes are depicted as dull, boxy trailers on wheels that look like they came straight from the 1970s. Trust me when we say that mobile homes have come a long way in 50 years! With all the mobile home brands available in the marketplace, you can now narrow down the type of mobile home you are looking for based on your personal design styles such as ranch-style homes, cabin-style, or a modern design with vaulted ceilings.
Nowadays, mobile homes can be fully customizable with a plethora of options for interior and exterior colors, smart-panel siding, metal or non-metal roofing, and color-coordinated gutter systems to add to the curb appeal. Legacy Housing's engineer's design hundreds of different floor plans with custom design options for you to choose from. Our 12-wide Tiny Homes look completely different from our 32-wide double-wide homes and that's because those homes are designed for two different customers and their needs in a home.
We design each of our floorplans with our end customer in mind, which is why our homes are built with more standard features than our competition. People who think all manufactured homes all look the same haven't been inside a mobile home built in 2020. That's why we are proving these myths are just myths!
Let's keep going, shall we...
Prefabricated homes fall under the jurisdiction of the U.S. government and specifically the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The government and it's governing bodies regulate the construction of manufactured homes to ensure the homes fit certain safety standards. All mobile homes built from 1994 and onwards, are required by law to follow HUD code standards for construction. HUD code is the same code requirements that site-built homes have to follow when it comes to strength, durability, fire resistance, and storm/wind resistance.
Most manufactured homes are built with the same interior and exterior housing materials as traditional site-built homes and in many cases, are built using even more durable materials due to the transportation process from the factory to the final home site.
When a manufactured home is adequately taken care of by being correctly secured to the site’s foundation, they are just as safe and reliable as any site-built home. Natural disasters happen, and that’s why allocating money for home insurance for any type of home, is essential.
What differentiates something’s value comes from the supply and demand of that item. Mobile homes are bought and sold daily all across America - so the value that put on a mobile home’s worth is based on what the current buyer is willing to pay for that particular mobile home at any given time and at any given place.
Now, bear with me...
The key to building up a mobile home's value, or equity, overtime is to make sure your mobile home is securely placed on land that you own so that the mobile home becomes an original structure on your land. Just like a site-built home, your mobile home on your land builds up equity over time. Now, factors such as the location of the land, condition of the home, and demand will determine how much value the property has, but that's to be expected everywhere.
Another example of this is let's say you have land with a site-built house already on it, and you decide to add a tiny guest house on the property as well. That additional structure, secured to your own land would add to equity to your property since it's now another useful addition to the land just like a functioning garage or wide shed.
It has become increasingly easier for people to get the proper financing to own a mobile home. Back in the day, it was harder to finance older mobile homes, but now with new mobile homes being built every day, this is a thing of the past. Many mobile home dealerships not only allow you to bring financing from your own, preferred institution, but they also have their own in-house financing option for their customers.
Dealerships who carry in-house financing options normally offer an online pre-approval process for the in-house financing to make the entire process easier for you as a future customer.
And that's a wrap of some of the more common mobile home myths we have heard of! What myths have you heard about mobile homes? What do you think of newer 2020 mobile homes from the mobile homes built in the 1970s?
We want to hear from you! As always, feel free to leave your comments in the comments section below!

Legacy Housing is known for building the tallest, widest manufactured homes in the industry. Our homes are built to maximize interior space, stretched to the maximum legal width so that you can fill your new home with all the traditional furniture options, and still have room to walk around comfortably. Since we build some of the widest mobile homes in the industry, we wanted to share with our readers our top three largest mobile home models for large, growing, and extended families.
Our 32-wide homes and our 36-wide homes have vaulted ceilings reaching a peak of 9 feet! Talk about having that big-home feel in your doublewide home. Living your doublewide-dream can now be a reality in one of Legacy’s top mobile home models.
All Legacy floorplans have been designed by our team of top engineers, plus one of the owners himself, to build the best value, most functional manufactured homes on the market. Legacy homes are some of the most affordable homes in the industry, priced right for big families.
Here is our list of our top three mobile home models for large families.
The first home we want to feature for growing families is our largest floorplan to date. The 36x80-435FLPA floorplan has 2,667 square feet of functional living space with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths plus a gorgeous front porch.
When you walk into this huge home, you will see the spacious living room that is open to the massive kitchen and dining room space. The u-shaped bar island allows for extra seating in the kitchen as well as plenty of countertop space for entertaining. Next to the dining room area is one of the best rooms in the whole house; the entertainment room.
The entertainment room sits on the left side of the house where the other bedrooms are located. Having an entertaining space on this side of the house is perfect because it is opposite of the master bedroom ensuite which is located on the right side of the house. With a large entertainment room, the possibilities are endless! Movie nights with the neighbors, hosting large parties with family and friends has never been easier with all the space in this home.
On top of an insanely large entertainment room, kitchen, and dining room spaces, you have the spacious master bedroom and master bathroom on the opposite end of the house. Complete with a fiber-acrylic standing shower and separate jacuzzi tub, opposing beauty sink areas complete with full-sized medicine cabinets and under-the-sink storage, two walk-in closets, and an entrance into the utility room for ease of access to household utilities, this house is fully-loaded.
Growing families who are looking for a home to fit all their family members, comfortably and functionally, should check out Legacy’s 36x80-435FLPA floorplan!
The second home we want to feature for growing families is another one of our larger floorplans that we build and is exclusive to our Fort Worth factory. The Heritage-32x84-535A floorplan has 2,494 square feet of functional space with 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and is also available in modular code as well.
This home is perfect for a larger, expanding family who might also want room for family members to spend the weekends or start living with them on a more permanent basis. The fifth bedroom in this floorplan is perfect for a “Nana & Papa Suite”. This bedroom has its own connecting bathroom compared to the other bedrooms in this floorplan, minus the master bedroom of course. It’s perfect for guests who might be staying overnight or more often.
On top of having five bedrooms and almost 2,500 square feet, this floorplan has a large, open kitchen concept and dining room area that flows into an entertainment room. The U-shaped kitchen bar allows for extra bar-style seating as an added bonus to the already large dining room area, which is large enough for an extended sized dining room table. The entertainment room has so much to offer for families who have young or growing children wanting to use their imagination to create their own inventive play space.
The third and final home we want to feature for growing and extended families is another one of the top floorplans we build that is also available in modular code. If you don't know the difference between modular and mobile homes, check out our blog about modular homes here. Our 36x72-43A floorplan has 2,380 square feet of comfortable living space complete with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and is designed with a spacious entertaining floorplan, opening kitchen/living room space, and a secluded den in the back of the home.
First off, this home has a huge front covered porch area that has some massive curb appeal. A front porch is not only inviting, but it’s an added bonus space that you can enjoy for the majority of the year. Step through the front door and you walk into a foyer. Yes, a foyer!
Because this home has an entryway built into the design, you walk into what does not feel like a traditional manufactured home. It’s really something special which is why it’s included in our top 3 list because this home feels so much more than your average manufactured home.
Now, after you hang up your coat in the front foyer coat-closet and take off your shoes, you make your way into the chef’s kitchen. This kitchen has all the bells and whistles that any cook or amateur chef could ever want. All our kitchens come with more functional vinyl-wrapped cabinets than our competitors and we really take pride in having the most functional homes in the industry. The living room and dining room are right off from the kitchen which makes it perfect for hosting weekly family gatherings and holiday celebrations with family and friends.
On the right side of the house features the added bonus room of a den or entertainment room. Because of the door that separates the den, two other bedrooms, and the utility room from the kitchen/living room area, you really get a sense that you are in a whole other part of the house since it feels nicely secluded. You could turn this den into a man-cave, game room, movie room, or casual playroom. The possibilities are endless with all the added space and privacy.
Migrating over to the other end of the house is where the real treat lies. Ladies, listen up when we tell you that your dream walk-in-closet is located in this house. Swing through the double-doors into the master bedroom ensuite. The master bedroom is designed to fit a king-sized bed with flanking nightstands, with his/her dressers and room for much more.
Keep walking through the spacious master bedroom and on the right-hand side, you will find the largest walk-in closet you’ve ever seen with an equally spacious master bathroom on the left-hand side. The closet features double-rod shelving for his and hers(mainly hers) clothing, plus sturdy 16” shelving in the middle for more closet organization and functionality. The master bathroom is also stocked full of standard features like a fiber-acrylic full-sized standing shower, a separate fiber-acrylic bathtub, two beauty counters fitted with beauty-lights, full-sized medicine cabinets, china lavvy sinks, and a closed-off toilet room for added privacy during those busy morning routines.
Large families who are looking for a home to fit all their family members, plus maybe a couple of friends, should check out Legacy’s 36x72-43A floorplan!
Legacy was founded on producing the tallest, widest, best most affordable mobile homes in the industry. We build our homes with quality materials backed by patented floorplans to offer our customers the most functional, furniture friendly, family-friendly manufactured homes on the market. Our floorplans come with more standard features than most other manufactured housing companies because we believe those important features should be standard, not an upgrade.

No time to clean then like the present. Since it is the start of the spring cleaning season, we wanted to share our favorite tips and tricks on how to clean your mobile home and how to get motivated to clean since that is truly the hardest part of cleaning. With all these spring cleaning tips and tricks, you will be ready to clean your home like a professional in no time! Merry Maids, who?
First and foremost, before you tackle the piles of clean(or dirty) clothes and reach under the sink for your cleaning supplies, you need to create a cleaning checklist. Creating a spring cleaning checklist is a way to stay organized before tackling, what feels like, a mountain of dirty work ahead of you.
Here is an example of a cleaning checklist to help you get you started!
Spring Cleaning Checklist
There’s some debate online whether you should vacuum first and then dust or the other way around. Personally, dusting first makes sense to me since allergens and dust are floating around in the air and you would want to trap those first. To prevent the inevitable sneezing during dusting, wipe home surfaces down with a damp cloth first.
Micro fiber dusters are known to trap a lot of dust, but I enjoy using a Swiffer Duster because it’s super user friendly, lightweight to hold, and doesn’t feel like I am dusting which is awesome. The extendable handle allows you to clean almost everywhere in your home and is great for on top of the kitchen cabinets, ceiling fan blades, and in the corners of each room where those pesky cobwebs like to congregate.
Want more tips for dusting like-a-pro? Check out this comprehensive guide on the 10+ 1 Ways to Control Dust in Your Home!
After you’ve created your spring cleaning checklist, the next step is to go room to room and gather up as much laundry as you can. By tackling the laundry situation, you are not only starting the decluttering process, but you are also allowing the laundry to get clean while you are busy cleaning the house. The laundry is working while you are working hard! Winning!
Make sure to check all fabric tags before just tossing everything into the washer. We have all had to say goodbye to that one household item that should not have been washed, so lessoned learn, read the fabric tags for the correct washing instructions. One product that has saved many loads of laundry is the Shout Color Catcher sheets.
Just add one sheet, sometimes two sheets if it’s a new item that hasn’t been washed yet, to your load of laundry. The Color Catcher sheet absorbs and traps loose dyes that might have come off your clothes in the wash water. They protect your clothes so you can wash more colored clothes together, leading to fewer loads of laundry. Color Catcher sheets also help protect and preserve the original colors in your clothes so they are one of the best laundry products that I recommend you try!
Don’t forget to wash other house-hold fabric items in your home because those see regular usage too. Shower curtains, rugs, throw pillows, bedding, sheets, towels, and more should all be headed to the washer before you tackle the rest of the spring cleaning checklist. Allowing shirts and pants to air-dry on a drying-rack helps create more space for bulky items you need to fit in your dryer like sheets and towels.
After you create your cleaning checklist to keep you organized and you start a load of laundry, so now onto the actual cleaning. Here is a list of some of the best tips and life hacks to get you to clean your home like a professional. We understand everyone has their method of cleaning, but these tricks might help spark some joy in cleaning your home quickly so you can get back to enjoying your home.
Tips To Cleaning Like A Professional
There are some great tips to get you ready to spring clean your mobile home and we hope you found some of the tips helpful. We didn’t touch on how to clean the outside of your mobile home, but be on the lookout for those cleaning tips in an upcoming blog. We would love to hear from you and how you spring clean your mobile home.
Please feel free to share your cleaning tips and tricks in the comments section below and on our Legacy Housing Facebook page.
With most Americans running some sort of small business, working for a side business, or their own family side hustle, we believe the following document from the US Chamber of Commerce is very important information for independent businesses affected by the covid-19 virus. Stay safe friends. Visit https://sba.gov for updates.
Prepared by the U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY LOANS
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act allocated $350 billion to help small businesses keep
workers employed amid the pandemic and economic downturn. Known as the Paycheck Protection Program,
the initiative provides 100% federally guaranteed loans to small businesses who maintain their payroll during this emergency.
Importantly, these loans may be forgiven if borrowers maintain their payrolls during the crisis or restore their payrolls afterward.
The administration soon will release more details including the list of lenders offering loans under the program. In the meantime, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has issued this guide to help small businesses and self-employed individuals prepare to file for a loan.
Here are the questions you may be asking—and what you need to know.
Am I ELIGIBLE?
You are eligible if you are:
• A small business with fewer than 500 employees
• A small business that otherwise meets the SBA’s size standard
• A 501(c)(3) with fewer than 500 employees
• An individual who operates as a sole proprietor
• An individual who operates as an independent contractor
• An individual who is self-employed who regularly carries on any
trade or business
• A Tribal business concern that meets the SBA size standard
• A 501(c)(19) Veterans Organization that meets the SBA size standard
In addition, some special rules may make you eligible:
• If you are in the accommodation and food services sector (NAICS 72),
the 500-employee rule is applied on a per physical location basis
• If you are operating as a franchise or receive financial assistance
from an approved Small Business Investment Company the normal
affiliation rules do not apply
REMEMBER: The 500-employee threshold includes all employees: full-time, part-time, and any other status. In evaluating eligibility, lenders are directed to consider whether the borrower was in operation before February 15, 2020 and had employees for whom they paid salaries and payroll taxes or paid independent contractors.
Lenders will also ask you for a good faith certification that:
1. The uncertainty of current economic conditions makes the loan
request necessary to support ongoing operations
2. The borrower will use the loan proceeds to retain workers and
maintain payroll or make mortgage, lease, and utility payments
3. Borrower does not have an application pending for a loan
duplicative of the purpose and amounts applied for here
4. From Feb. 15, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020, the borrower has not
received a loan duplicative of the purpose and amounts applied
for here (Note: There is an opportunity to fold emergency loans
made between Jan. 31, 2020 and the date this loan program
becomes available into a new loan)
If you are an independent contractor, sole proprietor, or self-employed
individual, lenders will also be looking for certain documents
(final requirements will be announced by the government) such as
payroll tax filings, Forms 1099-MISC, and income and expenses from
the sole proprietorship
What lenders will NOT LOOK FOR
• That the borrower sought and was
unable to obtain credit elsewhere.
• A personal guarantee is not
required for the loan.
• No collateral is required for the loan.
How do I calculate my average monthly PAYROLL COSTS?
NON SEASONAL EMPLOYERS:
Maximum loan = 2.5 x Average total monthly payroll costs incurred during the year prior to the loan date For businesses not operational in 2019: 2.5 x Average total monthly payroll costs incurred for January and February 2020
Maximum loan = 2.5 x Average total monthly payments for payroll costs for the 12-week period beginning February 15, 2019 or March 1, 2019 (decided by the loan recipient) and ending June 30, 2019 sum of INCLUDED payroll costs and sum of EXCLUDED payroll costs
EXCLUDED Payroll Cost:
1. Compensation of an individual employee in excess of an annual salary
of $100,000, as prorated for the period February 15, to June 30, 2020
2. Payroll taxes, railroad retirement taxes, and income taxes
3. Any compensation of an employee whose principal place of
residence is outside of the United States
4. Qualified sick leave wages for which a credit is allowed under section
7001 of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (Public Law 116–
5 127); or qualified family leave wages for which a credit is allowed
under section 7003 of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act
INCLUDED Payroll Cost:
1. For Employers: The sum of payments of any compensation with
respect to employees that is a:
• salary, wage, commission, or similar compensation;
• payment of cash tip or equivalent;
• payment for vacation, parental, family, medical, or sick leave
• allowance for dismissal or separation
• payment required for the provisions of group health care benefits,
including insurance premiums
• payment of any retirement benefit
• payment of state or local tax assessed on the compensation
of the employee
2. For Sole Proprietors, Independent Contractors, and Self-Employed
Individuals: The sum of payments of any compensation to or
income of a sole proprietor or independent contractor that is a
wage, commission, income, net earnings from self-employment, or
similar compensation and that is in an amount that is not more than
$100,000 in one year, as pro-rated for the covered period.
How much can I BORROW?
Loans can be up to 2.5 x the borrower’s average monthly payroll costs, not to exceed $10 million.
Borrowers are eligible to have their loans forgiven. How Much? A borrower is eligible for loan forgiveness equal to the amount the borrower spent on the following items during the 8-week period beginning on the date of the origination of the loan:
• Payroll costs (using the same definition of payroll costs used to determine loan eligibility) • Interest on the mortgage obligation incurred in the ordinary course of business
• Rent on a leasing agreement
• Payments on utilities (electricity, gas, water, transportation,
telephone, or internet)
• For borrowers with tipped employees, additional wages
paid to those employees
The loan forgiveness cannot exceed the principal.
How could the forgiveness be reduced?
The amount of loan forgiveness calculated above is reduced if there
is a reduction in the number of employees or a reduction of greater
than 25% in wages paid to employees.
Reduction based on reduction of number of employees
Reduction based on reduction in salaries
What if I bring back employees or restore wages?
Reductions in employment or wages that occur during the period beginning on February 15, 2020, and ending 30 days after enactment of the CARES Act, (as compared to February 15, 2020) shall not reduce the amount of loan forgiveness IF by June 30, 2020 the borrower eliminates the reduction in employees or reduction in wages.
Average Number of Full-Time Equivalent Employees (FTEs) Per Month for the 8-Weeks Beginning on Loan Origination
Option 1: Average number of FTEs per month from February 15, 2019 to June 30, 2019
Option 2: Average number of FTEs per month from January 1, 2020 to February 29, 2020
For Seasonal Employers:
Average number of FTEs per month from
February 15, 2019 to June 30, 2019
For any employee who did not earn during any pay period in 2019 wages at an annualized rate more than $100,000, the amount of any reduction in wages that is greater than 25% compared to their most recent full quarter. Prepared by the U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE -

Manufactured Homes of today are way different than that old singlewide or doublewide your grandparents lived in back in the day. These days, a government agency called HUD regulates the building & the materials used within new homes that are constructed by over 60+ factories across America and it has created uniformity across the homebuilding spectrum. HUD requires either metal, vinyl siding, or a new hardie board option that site-built homes are now using across the world called Smart Panel.
Legacy homes are built with a choice between two different types of siding. Vinyl siding is our standard offering for every home built. Strong Vinyl inserts with a true-grain wood finish that is resistant to UV rays, rain, and is low maintenance, with no painting or no scraping needed. While Vinyl inserts are a great look, they can blow away or disappear in straight-line winds that hit your area and replacing them with fresh non-aged brand new tiles can sometimes look weird & reduce your homes' curb appeal.
With Smart Panel Siding, your home can be protected from the elements with one of the best, sturdiest residential siding features of the past 20 years. Featuring a look almost identical to wood planks, smart panel siding is durable, sturdy, and is hail, termite, mildew, and fungal resistant. It can withstand straight-line winds better than any other home siding.
Three types of Smart Panel Siding are available on a new Legacy home. Vertical smart panel, horizontal smart panel called Lap Siding and a stained smart lap siding that offers two unique color patterns such as Cedar & Silver Ash. Smart Lap Siding features a unique look that offers even more curb appeal and increased protection from the elements with it's horizontal overlapping siding look..
Smart panel siding is also beautiful and has a curb appeal that will have your neighbors talking. With over 22 colors to choose from, smart panel is great for customers looking for that one home component that will set their home apart from their neighbors.
With global warming & weird unseen weather patterns occurring more frequently, it's best to go with a tested, tried & true siding that will weather the elements for years to come. It is worth the extra money to protect your home with Smart panel siding, we hope you agree and add to your new Legacy home build.
No one wants to plan for the worst, but when a pandemic strikes, it is best to be prepared. We want to help share some health and safety precautions during the forefront of the COVID-19 virus that is spreading across the nation and worldwide. Here are some simple ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and tips for preparing for the worst.
Listed are 7 steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from the World Health Organization. First, make sure you are washing your hands frequently. You should be washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before washing off your hands of soap.
Now, personally, this is a tough one but try to avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and face. The virus is extremely contagious, and so by touching your face often you are just allowing there to be more contact with your hands and face which can lead to the virus spreading. Your hands touch many surfaces so just try and keep your hands away from your face.
Cover your cough inside a tissue if you have time to grab one, or use the bend of your elbow to contain your cough. The same can be said for sneezing as well. Keep to social distancing and avoid crowded places such as the grocery store or pharmacy since many retailers and local establishments are closed at this point. Try and go out shopping for essentials early in the morning or late at night when there are potentially fewer people out at those times.
If you do not feel well, please stay home and again, practice social distancing from family, friends, and coworkers. If you start to develop a fever, cough or have difficulty breathing, seek medical attention. If you have a doctor you can call, or the emergency room you have visited in the past, call first to make sure they can see you in your current state.
There is a lot of information and misinformation out there about COVID-19. Be sure you try and get information from trusted news sources and keep an eye out for local updates from your county and state of residence.
It is important to keep social distancing or physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing is encouraged to help slow down the spread of the virus from person to person. By distancing yourself from other people, you are reducing the probability of contact from person to person of those who may or may not is infected with the virus.
Be aware of anyone who is coughing or sneezing and try to keep at least 3 feet away from them due to the respiratory virus being spread through coughing, sneezing, and saliva. If you are still able to work at your employer, keep a hand-sanitizer at your desk and be consistent about washing hands before and after eating foods and opening doors. It has been recommended to sit at least 6 feet apart from coworkers if you are still working in an office type setting.
Remember to sanitize your cell phone too since that touches many surfaces throughout the day.
Social distancing works best when everyone participates in keeping their distance from others.

Now with the winter season upon us, it’s time to save some money on your home’s energy bill and spend it on people you only see once a year. Kidding. But also, where does the money go?
We came up with some great tips for you to try out this winter season that will help keep those high energy bills down and save you some coin. So, let's get to it!
The winter season is a great time to save some money on your energy bills and we have just the energy-saving tips for you. Before you even touch your thermostat, we have some cold-weather tips that will help you warm-up without jacking-up the heat.
With all the lighting options out there, we as consumers are lucky to be able to purchase light bulbs that are energy-efficient. Replacing all traditional light bulbs(incandescent bulbs) to LED light bulbs can increase your home’s energy efficiency, especially in high traffic rooms in your home.
If you don’t want to replace all the bulbs in your house, that’s totally fine. Focus on the bulbs in lighting fixtures that you leave on longer than two hours per day. That is a good place to start if you don’t want to tackle the whole house before the holidays.
These light bulbs tend to have a higher upfront cost, but you end up replacing them less in the long run compared to traditional incandescent bulbs.
Another lighting tip before you put up all those outdoor holiday lights is switching your outdoor lights to LED lights or even better, lights with motion sensors so that they don’t stay on for extended periods of time. Solar outdoor lights are easy to find and very low-maintenance as well.
If you have any energy-saving tips, we would love to hear from you in the comment section below!

No one wants to plan for the worst, but when an emergency strikes, it is best to be prepared. We want to help you create an emergency 72-hour (or longer) kit that you’ll be able to use if there is an emergency near you. It could be an earthquake, a hurricane, a state-wide flood, or a gas explosion. You should always plan, and plan for the worst!
An emergency kit is something that you can work on and prep in a couple of hours depending on how many supplies you have on hand, or you can work on creating your family’s kit over the span of a couple of months if you need it. Some of the items listed like the personal documents and medications might take you longer to curate for your emergency kit.
Creating an emergency kit is a great project to start sooner than later, but it also allows you to get the supplies at your own speed because you may not be able to buy everything for your kit in one trip to Walmart or your local supercenter.
Projects like this take more time, just don’t forget about them!
Listed below are some(not all) of the basic supplies one should have in their emergency/disaster kit.
Now this list is subjective because what is basic to one person might be a necessity to someone else so keep that in mind when reading this list. This list is more like a guideline and if anything can lead to more inspiration to other items you might what in your disaster kit.
This section is pretty straight forward and contains some extra supply ideas for your disaster kit. Extra supplies are a great way to customize your kit to fit your specific family needs and if your kit can fit extra supplies.
If your state or county has issued an area-wide emergency, you should not take these warnings lightly. The best thing to do is listen to what they are recommending and if you can leave the state or move away from the projected danger, then it is best to consider this plan an option for you and your family. Some natural disasters happen suddenly so there is not much one can do to plan for these, except creating a disaster kit for when a disaster strikes.
If you or someone you know has created one of these before, please share your comments and experiences in the comments section below!
Your personal design style is a reflection of your past and present experiences.
So there is no reason that you can’t mix up your decorating style and incorporate vintage family heirlooms with new, modern pieces and affordable household items to create your own unique design aesthetic.
Just because you purchased a brand new home, doesn’t mean you have to fill it with brand new things. Truly, there is really only one thing you need to know about interior decorating. Learn how to mix up old and new and inexpensive and expensive pieces to create a design style that’s as unique as you.
It’s that simple!
You just bought your new house, and now it’s finally time to start decorating right? Yes!
But where do you start?
I have been asking myself this question for the last couple of weeks, and we haven’t even looked at houses yet. Once a planner, always a planner, I guess.
Whether starting from scratch or looking for some simple inspiration, start here to kickstart your interior design process for your new home.
Art - Art speaks to many people in its own way. And when you like something, you want to keep it around.
Art is a great way to start designing your future home and allows you to work off something beautiful that you enjoy admiring. Pulling colors from a piece of art allows the colors in the space to be cohesive and give you a good guide for how to decorate the room.
Art does not have to be expensive and is totally subjective meaning you might like something and your husband may not and that is okay. Find art you enjoy together for those shared spaces, and, the other rooms you end up decorating yourself, you can design off the artwork that you enjoy admiring.
You can also use your creative senses and create your own artwork to be inspired by. Many towns offer painting classes that you can register online and an artist will help you paint the piece for that class. You can head outside and paint what you see to make your own unique artwork.
Take your inspiration from the shape, color, texture of the lampshade, the color of the lamp, the finish of the lamp or pendant lighting. Light makes spaces appear taller which can help make any small space appear larger.
I am a sucker for flooring that looks like real wood floors. It is much easier to clean like a rolled vinyl flooring or a woodgrain plank tile flooring. The warmth from the wood-finish brings warmth to the whole house, which fits with the rustic design style I envision for my future home.
Color - Fabric, and color can be similar in terms of great places to start designing your space. Once you find the perfect hue to accent your space, you can be on your way to starting to decorate.
Once you have your main furniture pieces and interior room colors such as paint and floor color in neutral colors, you can add in pops of your “color” that you chose for that room, and go to town! This is a great way to start decorating because it allows you to have a very specific design focus. By investing in neutral furniture pieces and adding pops of color in fun accessories or art pieces, you are able to change up the design of the room easily by changing out the smaller accessories and not having to purchase all-new, and more costly, large furniture pieces.
If you keep most of the room a neutral canvas, then the pops of color will really shine in your space.
Fabric - This could seem overwhelming, but just like shopping for clothes, you know when you find a fabric you enjoy wearing or a pattern you always gravitate towards.
For some people, it’s floral patterns. For others its stripes or polka-dots. That same inspiration can be drawn upon for your interior design aesthetic. If you find the most perfect throw pillow in the perfect fabric, design the room based on the pillow’s color, shape, texture, etc. Whatever draws you into that fabric should help you design a space fit for it.
From throw pillows to comforters, curtains, area rugs, dish towels, or dining table napkins, any fabric can bring you inspiration for any room in your home.
Some people recommend starting with a rug since it brings the whole room together, but I would recommend starting with whatever pieces you are drawn to first, and go from there.
However you decide to start your interior design process, just know that everyone is different. There is no right or wrong way to decorate! Some people love not having a plan and decorating as they go since not having a plan allows them to let their creative flag fly and feels more organic. We just wanted to bring you some tips to start designing because it’s that one of the best parts of owning your own home! When you own your own home, you can decorate it as you see fit.
As Macklemore stated, “One man's trash, that's another man's come up.”
Thrift stores and vintage antique stores are a great way to incorporate older pieces into your new home. Always be on the lookout for quality pieces that will last you the investment that you are putting back into them by purchasing them. Some great interior pieces to find at thrift stores or antique stores are large mirrors, real wood furniture, large vases, and antique rugs.
Large to medium-sized mirrors bring more light into any room in your home. Placing a mirror across from a window instantly adds more light into the room, and brightens it up naturally. You can find old vintage mirrors at an antique store and refurbish it to make it fit your personal style of your home. A touch-up of paint or a good cleaning can bring back a vintage mirror to have a second life in your home.
That regal vintage style is hard to find these days at most modern retailers. You’ll end up spending a fortune on something made to look that vintage, plus mirrors are expensive no matter what brand. It might take more time, but with a little elbow grease, finding a gem like a floor-length mirror at a thrift store is worth your efforts to bring more light and an older vintage piece into any room of your home.
Another great idea for bringing more light into any room of your home is turning an old picture frame into a mirror. This can be done with any size frame and is a pretty simple craft project. Check out this awesome DIY on how to repurpose a picture frame into a mirror on the Dream A Little Bigger Blog.
Garage sales are a great way to find and repurpose someone else’s furniture for your own space, plus sometimes you can find the most unique vintage finds since people don’t usually get rid of things very often. Like when was the last time you clean out your closet?
Many people, like me, are hoarders. It’s all about self-acceptance, right? Right.
At a garage sale, you gotta keep your eyes peeled for cheap decor pieces that are cheap able to be updated. Look for pieces that have “good bones” so that if you do need to restain the coffee table or wooden desk, or reupholster the entire love-seat in a new fabric, you can because it’s got great structure intact to be refurbished. Don’t just buy someone else trash because you thought you could revive it and DIY it back to life. Trash is trash.
Still struggling to find what you’re looking for at a garage sale? Check out this great article from Money Crashers on Garage Sale Shopping Tips.
The idea of having family heirlooms in a brand new homes feels comforting because you know those pieces were enjoyed by your family members for years. Now, you can enjoy them in your new home. It’s a special feeling and you can’t put a price on that. Whatever types of items you get from family and friends, thoroughly exam them to detect any longterm damage or wear-and-tear.
Inspecting every item before using it in your home allows you to fix any damage and make it brand new before use in your home.
No matter where you end up shopping for home decor one thing is certain. No matter what you fill your home up with, it will be your home. As much as I love pinning inspiration on Pinterest, I know how I furnish my home will be as unique as me, and it will never look exactly like a Pin on Pinterest.
Home is where the heart is, so make sure you fill it up with the things you love. If you are ready to own the home of your dreams, find a Legacy Housing dealer near you today! Click the link to start building your legacy.
It is officially summer. That means it is time to break out the grill and start grilling! Since it’s National Grilling Month, we figured go big and grill at home.
Lucky, we have saved you the time of looking up new, grilling recipes to try out this summer. Conveniently, they are all linked down in respective categories to keep you organized and efficient when planning your next grilling feast.
Just about anything can be thrown on a grill from fruits to veggies, delicious proteins, to desserts, you name it! A grill is a great cooking vessel to help bring a great smokey flavor to any food you cook on it. We have curated some great grilling recipes for you to try out this summer that you can use for any special occasion or weeknight dinner.
Grilling fruit on the grill brings out the natural sweetness of the sugars in the fruit and gives the exterior of the fruit a charred texture that is unlike anything else.
Make sure you pick fairly firm fruits like melons, pineapples, pears, peaches, tomatoes, figs to grill because the denser the fruit, the more likely they will hold their shape on the grill and not become mushy. You also want to choose fruit that is close to being ripe, not overripe.
Leave the fruit in large pieces that way they will hold their shape when being grilled and don’t fall through the grates of the grill. It is also important to follow the recipe and prepare your fruit properly for grilling. Some recipes recommend coating the fruit in oil or melted butter or sugar for maximum results when grilling.
If you haven’t tried grilling fruit on a grill yet, we highly recommend you try it this summer! We’ve listed some great grilled fruit recipes below to help get you started. And we threw in some desserts because, why not?
Grilling vegetables is a great way to cook everything all on one surface for dinner or for your next cook-out. We eagerly wanted to share some tips with you when it comes to preparing your veggies for the grill that will make your whole grilling experience a breeze since you’ll be a pro by the end of this blog!
Before grilling veggies on the grill, make sure to prep them for the grill. This means coating them in oil and seasoning them with at least salt and pepper before they hit the grill. Some recipes might require you to marinate them beforehand which would add even more flavor.
Don’t just wash the vegetables and place them on the grill. You wouldn’t do that to a steak, would you? We hope not!
Another important step for some larger, denser vegetables is cooking them slightly beforehand. Because these veggies such as potatoes, carrots, and yams need a little bit more cooking time than say skinny asparagus, save yourself some time and boil them in the water ahead of grilling them. Unless you want to wait a very long time for those to be fully cooked on a grill, then go for it.
Here are some delicious grilled vegetable recipes for you to try this summer!
Growing up in Upstate, NY, I have fond memories of my parents cooking dinner on the grill during the summertime. Being that summer only lasts a couple of months, they would take advantage of the warm weather and grill several nights a week for dinner. We would often have grilled BBQ chicken, a nice strip steak, and spiedies, which is a local favorite.
Spiedies consist of pork, chicken, veal, or lamb cubes marinated in Italian spices and then grilled on skewers. Spiedies are traditionally eaten as a sandwich on fresh Italian bread, but they taste great in salads or, one of my personal favorites, on pizza.
Now, since most people can’t get spiedies in their local grocery store unless you live in Upstate, NY(they are easy to make at home, by the way), we have included plenty of other awesome grilling recipes for your summertime cook-outs. We tried to include as many different types of proteins as possible to keep the recipes interesting and not all steak and chicken recipes.
Check out these summertime grilling recipes and let us know what ones you will be grilling up this summer!
Not everyone owns an outdoor grill, and we totally understand that. So we decided to include some great grilling recipes that can be made on a Foreman grill or any portable indoor grilling surface.
It’s not about where you grill, but what you grill that really counts.
Now if you really don’t like any of the recipes listed, check out our other blogs for more grilling and cooking inspiration.
You can find more recipes here in our 41 Festive Recipes for Fabulous 4th of July, and 21 Easy recipes for a Memorable Memorial Day blogs. As always, if you have any great grilling recipes that your family and friends rave about and beg you to share with them, please share them with us in the comments section below.
Remember to practice safe grilling when you and your family are outside. Make sure that your sleeves are rolled up and that your apron is properly tied up. Check for propane leaks near your gas grill before lighting up the grill. If you smell gas near your grill or your flame won’t light, you may have a propane leak.
Always be ready to put out a gas fire before you start grilling which means keeping a fire extinguisher handy and make sure you and your family know how to use it in case of a fire. Never use water to put out a grease fire. Instead, keep baking soda or sand near the grill in case of a grease fire.
For more grill safety tips, check out Grilling Safety from the National Fire Protection Agency.
Happy National Grilling Month and always practice safe grilling!

When you are trying to buy a house, or make any big financial purchase in your life, your credit score comes into play and plays a huge factor on interest rates, approval for grants, and many other qualifying factors.
One app has truly changed my life when it comes to adulting.
No, it’s not a social media app! If you haven’t heard of Credit Karma, or you don’t have Credit Karma on your phone, then you need to download it right now. This blog post can wait, so go do it now. But do come back of course to finish reading!
Credit Karma is 100% free to download and free to use. This post is in no way sponsored by them, it’s just that with Credit Karma, I can truly say that the smart financial decisions I have made this year are all in thanks to Credit Karma for having my back when it comes to my credit health.

Make sure all the information listed and all the accounts are correct. Be thorough when checking over all your accounts, and, if you see something that isn’t correct, make sure you notify them in the app.
If you want more information about the difference between TransUnion, Equifax, and more credit help, check out Credit Karma’s Youtube channel for helpful videos! Credit Karma helped me fully understand what my credit entails and how all my credit cards, student loans, my car loan affect my credit score. As we mature, the more important your credit score plays a role in making those big financial life decisions.
If you are thinking of owning your own home in the near, or distant future, check out our blog post about Home Buying 101 for lots of great tips on how to start your mobile home buying journey.
Growing up, I learned from my parents’ scolding me about how to not spend all my hard earned money from my two jobs at the time, but I didn’t learn what credit really meant until I got older and saw with my own eyes.
If I had credit karma when I first opened up a bank account and got my first credit card, I would have been able to see the damage from my one-day shopping spree in NYC (still have those Steve Madden boots, though so, worth it?). That summer spending spree after my freshman year of college would have some serious effect on my savings account that, in the end, did not teach me very much about credit.
Credit Karma defines credit utilization as, “Your total credit balance divided by credit availability. In other words, your credit utilization rate is a percentage that represents how much you use your credit. For optimum credit health, this percentage should remain under 30% of your total credit limits at all times.”
This is a great definition of credit utilization and practice to follow for your own credit health! Anything under 30% credit utilization is considered excellent and can help positively boost your credit score. Lenders want to see that you can use credit wisely and how well you manage credit. The higher your credit utilization score, the higher of a risk you appear to lenders which is not good when you are looking to buy a new home, car or any large purchase where you might need a loan.
A popular credit card myth is closing your old credit cards or cards that you are no longer using anymore. Keeping your older cards open keeps your credit limit higher than if you closed all the cards you decided you didn’t need anymore or weren’t going to use in the future. Leaving those cards open with a zero balance is good for your credit health and helps with credit utilization as long as you keep their balance at zero and don’t give in to the temptation to spend more because you have a higher credit limit.
However, if your card has an annual fee and you are not going to use it anymore, you might be better off closing that card.
One organic way to boost your credit score over time is by becoming an authorized user on someone else’s credit card. Now there are a couple of things you need to know before you start asking people in your life to be added to their credit card! Also, please don’t ask a stranger to do this for you, that is not a good idea at all.
When becoming an authorized user on someone else’s credit card here are the guidelines you should follow for success.
The reason you want the longest standing credit card with on-time payment history and a zero to low balance is that all those years that the credit card has been in use and paid off on time, all that positive data will transfer over to your credit score when you become an authorized user.
You don’t end up buying a home because of the square footage. You buy a home because of something about that home allows you to envision your life there, building memories with family and friends in that home. It’s about how you feel the moment you walk through the front door and realize this is the one for you!
We want to share some tips about mobile home buying 101 from what we have learned all these years in business. Yes, Legacy is still considered the new kid on the block in the industry, but we have a lot of knowledge, talented engineers, and plenty of happy customers to back us up!
Hopefully, this information will be useful to you or someone you know who’s planning to buy a mobile home.
A great deal of information exists out there about mobile homes and the manufacturers who make them. It is important to do your research ahead of time to save you time during your house-hunting process. The competition is fierce in the mobile home marketplace and, with all the options, it can be overwhelming where to start.
See what the comparable sales, or comps, are in your area. Comparables are a tool in real estate for estimating how to best price the real estate in the area such as site-built homes, apartments, mobile homes, etc. The comps are based off geographical location, house size, special features, and condition of the home relative to similar real estate in the area.
It is worth your time and effort to research. Look up what the local cost of condos, apartments, and site-built homes are in your area to give you an idea of what the local market looks like. Owning your own home is a smarter investment than renting, so seeing those numbers for yourself helps put things in perspective.
The stigma of mobile homes has changed over the last decade. Many mobile home manufacturers make better-looking homes than most traditional site-built homes with more desirable, modern, and “smart” features that come standard due to the streamlined assembly-line home-building process!
If you are a first-time homebuyer (like myself), you don’t really know what the comparables are in your area so getting a good idea of those numbers before you start shopping around is really eye-opening and informative.
It’s important to research reviews online to see what others have to say about the company you researched. Check out Google, Facebook, Better Business Bureau reviews for outside opinions on a particular manufacturer or mobile home dealership.
Be cautious when reading reviews online; it is much more likely that people will post a review when they have something to complain about over than when things are going great and they are content with their home.
Run information by your family and friends where they have purchased their mobile home from or if they know anyone who’s recently purchased a mobile home.
A lot of business is done purely through word-of-mouth, and many families shop at the same stores and hire the same contractors. If they have a positive experience, they are much more likely to share their positive experience with their family and friends. The family members and friends trust their opinion and guidance and, therefore, are much more likely to use that information when making a purchasing decision.
Never settle on the first mobile home you look at or the first dealership you visit. It’s important to get current prices and look at online inventory from more than just one dealership, who sells different manufacturers, to make an informed decision.
Knowledge is power, and, the more power you have in the buying process, the better!
First, you should make a checklist of everything you need and everything you want in your new mobile home. Whether it be a huge master bathroom to a large kitchen with a hidden pantry, this step should be done before heading out to any mobile home dealership. It’s important to narrow down what is most important to you in your new home, and where you might be willing to compromise.
In a perfect world, you would want to get everything on your list. But in case things don’t go perfectly, you should write down what you are willing to compromise on if the new homes you are looking at don’t have everything you want on your list.
For example, if you love to entertain you would want to make sure the living room area is large enough for having family and friends over and have it feel comfortable with a furniture-friendly design. Because more space is being utilized for the living room area, the guest bedrooms might not be as big as you would have wanted. You will have to decide if you would want to compromise the guest bedrooms for a larger living room, or if you would be better off looking at a larger mobile home or a different floorplan to suit your needs.
Once you have done your research, read all the reviews online, talked to family and friends, and made your home checklist, it’s time to start checking your finances and how much money you have saved up this new home.
In this article, we aren’t going to be diving into the financial aspect too much since we will be posting blogs that go into more detail about financing later on this month and in the future. Keep an eye on our blog for more articles detailing mobile home financing.
To keep this brief, you are going to want to make sure you have enough money for a down payment. For instance, at Legacy, a $5,000 to $10,000 down payment is recommended, but not required. Then figure out your monthly budget and how much you can pay month-to-month towards a loan if you need to finance your new home.
Some in-house financing programs don’t require a social security number or drivers license upon application. With in-house financing programs, the income verification process is simple for the customer and done in-house as the name suggests. Note that all manufacturers are not the same and do not always offer in-house financing options to their customers.
It pays to research the financing options before you head to a dealership so you can know you are getting the best financial deal for your budget.
Once you get to a dealership, bring your checklist with you because that puts you in control of the buying process as well as making your notes handy about in-house financing options and your minimum/maximum budget for buying a home.
Being organized and prepared before shopping around different dealerships allows you to stick to your budget and end up getting the house that fits your lifestyle and not the most expensive house on the lot that the salesman might try to sell you.
If you feel like you need more resources when it comes to being a first-time homebuyer or even if you need to freshen up your homeowner’s checklist, check out our blog post this month about Tips for National Homeownership Month!
Smart upgrades can make a difference in your new house over time. Choose to have better insulation in your new home so that your home stays warm in the cool months and cool in the warm months. Check to see if your manufacturer has a free catalog to see the latest and greatest features and benefits in their mobile homes!
Roofs with higher pitch prolong the life of your roof, so do your research before shopping in the marketplace. Some competitors claim they have the highest roof pitch, and they don’t, so educate yourself before buying so that your roof lasts longer.
Updating your home to have a shingle roof over a metal roof is better for the home, as well as making sure a premium aluminum gutter system is installed as well. An aluminum gutter system protects the doors and windows of the home, as well as your landscaping and topsoil.
Vinyl siding is a great option for your new home’s exterior because it is low-maintenance and resembles the texture of real wood. Upgrading your new home’s exterior can extend the life of your home and protect it from unpredictable weather.
Another smart upgrade is making sure your mobile home has an energy-efficient overhead-duct system so that your improved cooling system keeps your home cool. There’s nothing worse than having a warm house in the middle of a hot summer. The energy-efficient overhead-duct system also reduced air nose so your home stays quieter for those long afternoon naps.
